As we reflect on October 2024, we are filled with gratitude for the vibrant connections and enriching experiences that have deepened our engagement with society, particularly in the fields of Shastras and Vedic knowledge. Here’s a look back at a month packed with inspiring events and impactful dialogues that continue to shape our journey.
Highlights of October 2024
1.Sanskrit Academy Conference
The Sanskrit Academy, supported by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Osmania University, aims to preserve and publish rare Sanskrit manuscripts and foster Sanskrit studies. This October, Dr.J.Suryanarayana garu and Dr.J.Srinivas garu were invited to join esteemed scholars in Hyderabad for meaningful discussions on Shastric studies. Together with Prof.Madhusudan Penna garu and others, they explored critical ideas and connected with students passionate about Sanskrit and Shastras, making it a fruitful gathering.
2.All India Oriental Conference (AIOC) – Udupi
Established in 1918, the All India Oriental Conference (AIOC) has been a cornerstone for Sanskrit and Indological research in India. Dr.J.Suryanarayana garu attended the 51st AIOC in Udupi, which brought together scholars from across the country. During his three-day stay, he renewed connections, engaged in enriching discussions on emerging trends in Sanskrit research, and had the honor of meeting Shri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji in Udupi. This conference further energized our commitment to advancing Shastric studies.
3.Dasara Darbar at Pushpagiri Mutt
Dr.J.Suryanarayana garu and Dr.J.Srinivas garu participated in the Dasara Darbar at Pushpagiri Mutt, a historic center of learning dating back to the 13th century. In the presence of the revered Sri Sri Jagadguru Vidya Shankara Bharati Swamiji, they had the opportunity to present profound concepts from the Shastras. It was a humbling experience, and the grandeur of the Dasara Darbar added to the spiritual and intellectual depth of the gathering.
4.Veda Parikshalu at Sri Kameswari Gurukulam
This month, we conducted Veda Parikshalu, exams for our students at Sri Kameswari Veda Shastra Gurukulam. Under the rigorous guidance of Sri Manikantha Ghanapathi garu, our students were evaluated on the Vedic and Shastric knowledge they have learned. The commitment and enthusiasm shown by the students is appreciable, and we received positive feedback, reinforcing our dedication to their learning journey.
5.A Special Visit by Sri Kotamraju Sitarama Ghanapathi garu
We were honored to welcome Sri Kotamraju Sitarama Ghanapathi garu, founder of Sri Venkateswara Vidyaranya Veda Vidyalayam.He has been a mentor and inspiration behind our Gurukulam. Dr.J.Suryanarayana garu gained good skills with respect to several aspects of teaching in a gurukulam, while working in Sri Venkateswara Vidyaranya Veda Vidyalayam. Sri Kotamraju Sitarama Ghanapathi garu has been a guiding light for us and he also appreciated the progress we’ve made in our curriculum during his visit.
6.Deepavali Celebrations
We concluded the month with a joyful Deepavali celebration at our Hyderabad campus.Surrounded by the warmth of our Sri Kameswari family, we celebrated the festival of lights with great delight, marking a beautiful end to October.
